About Private Plitvice Lakes Tour

Join us on our private Plitvice Lakes tour and find out why the National Park is without doubt one of Croatia’s major attractions that has been recognized world-wide for its beauty and intact nature. With the aim to protect and preserve its state for future generations, it was named a national park in 1949. Further affirmation of its importance came in 1979 when UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site.

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is not only Croatia’s largest national park, but also one of the oldest in the region.

The Plitvice Lakes are a perfect blend of stunning landscapes, pristine nature and an abundance of flora and fauna. Mother Nature gave surely her best when she created this scenery of breathtaking waterfalls, lush forests and mesmerizing lakes, in which the colors are constantly changing in dependence of the season and the time of the day. Overall there are 16 lakes in the park, all connected to each other and formed by the confluence of various small rivers and many underground rivers that are still flowing through this karst region. The number of waterfalls on the other hand is barely countable as they seem to appear along each step you take through the park, each one more beautiful than the other. Make sure to have your cameras at hand as this scenery is truly something unique and worth saving on your memory card.

Your Plitvice Lakes private tour from Split along the H trail will start off, after a short descent, with a pleasant train ride around the Upper Lakes, where your personal licensed guide will tell you not only about the history and nature of the Plitvice Lakes, but also some myths and legends connected to this area. Your licensed guide is a professional with more than 12 years of experience that knows the park by heart as she is not only a local, but also as she has been accompanying her mother, who is a guide as well, since her early childhood.

After the train ride, you will continue your tour along the wooden walkways that will take you over some calm, but occasionally also blustering waters, where you will experience up close and personal the lakes’ finest attributes. Our hike ends at the southwestern shore of Lake Kozjak, from where you will take a joyful ride on the electric boat to the northern shore. There, in the surroundings of this fantastic scenery, you will be able to enjoy a lunch break at the Plitvice Lakes National Park restaurant. After a fortifying meal and some refreshments, we will resume our tour to the Lower Lakes and the splendid 78 m high “Great Waterfall” (Veliki Slap).

There are, by no means, many sites in Croatia that are popular or famous, but none of them matches the magic and beauty of the Plitvice Lakes. It is a place that embraces its visitors with all what Mother Nature has to offer, a voluptuous vegetation interwoven with blue and turquoise waters of lakes and waterfalls and an intact fauna in its preserved habitat. Allow us to take you on an unforgettable Plitvice Lakes private tour from Split to this fascinating national park and show you why the Plitvice Lakes deserve their fame!
