About Private Dubrovnik Tour from Split

The Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik, is, without a doubt, Croatia’s most popular tourist destination – and for a good reason. Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage listed site and its well-preserved medieval architecture, and impressive city walls will have you mesmerized from the moment you set eyes on them. Dubrovnik is so well preserved in fact many a movie and TV show has been filmed in the city, the most notable in recent times being HBO’s Game of Thrones.

The absolute best way to see this location is to take a private Dubrovnik tour from Split, where you will be collected from your accommodation and transported to Dubrovnik, taking in all the sites along the way. Tour itinerary

07:30 – Departure from Split

To make the most of your day in Dubrovnik, we recommend a departure of 07:30, however, given it’s a private tour, the starting time is flexible, and you can decide on your departure time. Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation or the suggested meeting point ( Obala hrvatskog narodnog preporoda 23 ) and then you will be on your way to Dubrovnik. Part of the journey to Dubrovnik is along the old coastal highway where you’ll get some spectacular views of the Dalmatian coastline. Keep your camera handy!

11:00 – 12:30 – Guided Tour of Dubrovnik

The UNESCO-listed city of Dubrovnik is truly a site to behold. It has been superbly preserved with the standout attraction its large stone wall fortifications which surround the city. With so many things to see within the Old Town, our guide will provide you with insight into Dubrovnik’s rich history, show you the major sites and, of course, make recommendations on where you should head for your subsequent free time in this magical city. Your guided tour will include a walk down Dubrovnik’s famous Stradun and take in the sites of the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary, the Rectors Palace, forts, the Dominican Monastery and Museum along with many other interesting sites within the Old Town.

12:30 – 16:15 – Explore Dubrovnik on your own

Now you have had your history lesson and learned a little about the Pearl of the Adriatic from your guide; it’s time for you to explore on your own. By this time of the day you are probably a little hungry, so head to one of the many Konoba’s (Croatian taverns) located in the Old Town and try some of the local cuisine. We suggest crni rižot (cuttlefish risotto) with a glass of Pošip, a white wine native to Croatia. Now that your belly is full tighten up your shoe laces, grab a bottle of water and head to the number one Dubrovnik attraction, the city walls. The truth is a visit to Dubrovnik is not complete without walking the city walls. While up there you’ll be amazed at the enormity of the walls, the stunning views over Dubrovnik and the breathtaking panorama out into the Adriatic Sea and the island of Lokrum.

If the walls are not high enough, you can take the Dubrovnik cable car up to the top of Mt Srd where you will get the absolute best view of Dubrovnik. If it’s history that you are after then pay a visit to the old Pharmacy, Europe’s oldest working pharmacy which has been in operation for 700 years or one of the many churches and museums that lie within the Old Town. There are numerous options to fill your day; the choice is yours.

16:15 – 19:30 – Return to Split

After a long day of exploring the charming Dubrovnik, we head back to Split. If you missed your chance on the way to Dubrovnik to get a photo of the dramatic Dalmatian coast well now is your chance to get that special photo.
